Birmingham IA: 2025 events

We would love to see you at some of our forthcoming events. Everyone is welcome to join our informal socials where you can chat with others in a friendly, safe environment.  Members will all receive emails with the joining links for Zoom meetings. Non-members should contact maggie.butler@iasupport.org for joining instructions.

Most of our meetings are held  face-to-face, but  some meetings  continue to be held on Zoom for members who prefer to meet in this way.

Birmingham IA Zoom meetings:

'Dietary Advice for Ostomists and Pouchies' - Online Zoom

Sophie Turigel, a Senior Dietitian working as part of Melissa Cunha's Colorectal Surgery Team, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, will be giving an online presentation full of dietary advice for Ostomists and Pouchies, via Zoom.

Sophie provided a very interesting and informative presentation at our recent Information Day, and has kindly agreed to provide another, not to be missed, presentation!

A Zoom link will be emailed out to Birmingham IA members nearer the time.

If you have any queries, please contact Maggie Butler, via maggie.butler@iasupport.org.

We hope you can join us!

'Meet the Nurses'

We will be holding more of our popular 'Meet the Nurses' sessions this year. This is your chance to meet with stoma nurses from local hospitals and to ask questions about stoma care. We are very lucky in Birmingham that the SCNs volunteer to give up their time in the evenings after a long day at work, and we are very grateful to them.

Dates will be posted as soon as we have them. The Zoom links will be circulated to members before the meetings.

Other Meetings:

Pouch Information Day 2025

This year, the IA National Pouch Information Day is taking place at the Novotel Hotel, 70 Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2HT.

You'll need to register, in advance, to secure your place.
